The Merry Cocker

The English Cocker Spaniel is a happy, friendly and affectionate little dog. They bring joy and smiles to everyone they greet. They make a great family dog as they love spending time with their people, are particularly fond of children and get along well with other pets.

They have a long, pretty and silky coat that comes in a variety of colours. This coat does require regular brushing and trimming.
Their exercise requirements are moderate, they appreciate a fenced yard to run but can live in an apartment if given enough outdoor activity. Especially once they have reached adulthood, they will adapt to your activity level whether watching a movie on the couch or going for a romp in the woods.

They are affectionally called “velcro dogs” as you will often find them following you around the house, you may not have much privacy in the washroom anymore! They really thrive on human companionship. For this reason they do not do well if left alone for long periods of time.

Although this can vary by individual, they are generally not prone to excessive barking.

They are eager to please and quick to train, making them a good choice for first time dog owners and repeat dog families alike.

Some fun activities to do with your cocker are agility, tricks, sprinter runs, rally and scent detection.
