We take immense pride in raising stable, healthy companions. In addition to the parents being chosen for their outgoing and confident personalities, we place a high degree of importance on exposing the pups to all sorts of experiences that will prepare them for life with their new families. The first 12 weeks of a pup’s life is the most important when it comes to socialization and this starts at the breeder’s!
We have a very small breeding program with only one litter per year. This provides each puppy, and their mom, with constant attention from us. Our puppies are home raised, in the middle of our family room. They are exposed to people, sights and sounds encountered in a home environment.
They are introduced to nail trims, grooming and bathing. This is important as this breed requires a fair amount of grooming if kept in full coat (like a show dog).
Once old enough we get them accustomed to sleeping in a crate and bring them out into the backyard for short sessions to start pottying on grass. This will give pups a great start on housebreaking.
They are introduced to many different surfaces such as wood, tile, vinyl, grass, patio stones, carpet. We want our pups to be confident on any surface when they go to their forever homes.
Pups will already be accostmed to car rides so they will feel comfortable going to their new homes at 8 weeks of age.
